Rosearie Applegate sat on the boulders at the edge of the clearing, picking at the flaws in the stone. Tiring of this passtime, she jumped down and began to pace the green grass, swinging her arms as she did so. what i wouldn't give for a fight she thought, cracking her knuckles and rolling her shoulders back. She slammed her fist into a nearby tree with a resonding crack as the wood splintered. Sensing someone nearby, she spun around.

Bella slowly walked through the clearing. She was now in the outskirts of Forks and was glad to get away. Bella trudged through the intertwining branches and pushed the limbs and leaves out of her way. She finally got through the underbrush and was standing, still in the middle of the debris less space. Bella found a nice spot under a tree and decided to sit down. Just as Bella was getting to the ground she the snapping of the very tree and quickly jumped out of the way, afraid it would fall.
As she did this, Bella looked around for she had heard someone else in the woods. "Hello?" She called, hoping that she was alone.

Rose heard someone call out, but couldn't see them. She spun on her heel looking for the newcomer, then mentally kicked herself. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath and sorted through the smells she gathered. She found a fresh human scent, quite flowery, and followed it to it's source. She open her eyes and found herself face to face with a brown haired teenager. "Hello" she said with a smile. Her red eyes practically glowed, but she wasn't in Forks to cause trouble. "I'm Rose. You would be...?"

Bella stared at the teenage girl intently. She was puzzling. "Uh...I'm Bella. I'm sorry if I disturbed you. I was just walking and the tree, it snapped and startled me." She told Rose. There was something about Rose that made Bella a little on edge. She did not know what it was, but knew she had to be careful.
Bella glanced around her, at all the greenery. They were alone, that was for sure and it was so quite, to quite for her liking.

Now Rose was closer to the girl, she could smell another scent. An awfully familiar one-that of vampires. Unsure of how to bring the topic up, she decided to stear clear of it. She kept to the shadows, to hide her eyes from the view of the girl.
"Sorry...um...Bella, for startling you. It wasn't my intention.

Bella nodded in agreement and pushed it aside. "It's alright." She said calmly. Bella took a step forward, closer to the girl, she had a sence she was hiding something and Bella really wanted to find out what it was.
Bella looked around her and then back at her neighbor. "So...um...Rose, I haven't seen you before. Are you new here in Forks?" She asked hesitantly.

Rose nodded. "Only been here a couple of days" she answered. "You been around for long?" she asked, stepping further into the shadows. She really didn't want to have to kill this human.

Bella kept staring intently at the girl. She still seemed to be hiding something, and Bella was determined to find out what it was. "I have been living her permanently for about two years and have come her for summers all my life pretty much." She answered simply. Bella tried again to get a closer look at the girl, but failed because she was just to well hidden.
Bella had a funny feeling about Rose. She had a theory, but hoped it wasn't true, for if it was, she might be in a lot of danger, and no one was there to get her out of it this time.

"I see"said Rose, nodding her head. The girl, Bella, continued to step closer to Rose. She sighed. If she had to kill the girl, so be it. Rose decided to see how she reacted, and stepped out of the shadow. "Are you alright?" she said "You keep ducking around like a goose" Her red eyes glinted in the sun, as did her hair.

Alice had seen it. A red-eyed vampire in the clearing with Bella.
The vision hadn't reached them in time for him to prevent Bella from wandering out on her own. And this was why Edward ran at an astonishing speed through the woods now, nearly overwhelmed with dread and panic. Was he too late?
After what seemed to him an eternity (even though he was pushing himself to his limits), Edward finally reached the clearing. His eyes swept the scene rapidly and he almost gave an audible sigh of relief when his stare found Bella, alive and seemingly unhurt. Less than a second later, he was at her side, fixing the other vampire with his hard glare as he placed himself in front of Bella.
"If you value your life, you'll leave her alone," he hissed, his voice menacingly quiet. Edward kept his golden gaze on the vampire and it was filled with the threat he'd just spoken aloud. His hands clenched to fists at his sides.
"I know what you are. You can't hunt here."
