"It would be a hard change. Almost impossible." Oscar nodded in agreement, "Maybe to much to bear" he added with a grim expression. He looked up measuring her expression, the clear grey marks under her eyes were distinct, easy to see, she needed to feed. That must be why shes out here, he answered to himself.
"I'm Mar--er--Sophie." Oscar hesitated for a moment at her change of words, was she hiding something, or was it just a mistake on her part? He didn't know, but none of the less, he let it go."Enchanté." He smiled at the word, not a sheepish grin like before but a wide, beaming grin, showing his brilliant pair of white teeth, one of his many charms."Er.." Oscar laughed to himself, "Sorry," he said letting go shaking his head side to side in laughter. He didn't really know why he was laughing, he was in a good mood it seems.
Slanting back into a casual position, Oscar struggled to think of what to say next, they had gone through all the pleasantries, and wasn't sure where to head to now. "So what brings you here?" he asked, the only thing that entered his mind.

Sophie laughed lightly as well, out of habit. She brought her hand back and rubbed it slightly before letting it fall back down to her side. After hearing his next question, Sophie hesitated before answering.
"I was hoping there would be a human or two hanging around here." Almost immediately after saying it, Sophie dropped her head as if she were ashamed. Maybe the meeting with the Cullens had more affect on her than she realized. Sophie bit her lip. There was no way to explain why she was acting odd...as if she were almost guilty.

"I was hoping there would be a human or two hanging around here." Oscar looked to the ground the moment she said it, the corners of his mouth twitching into a grim expression. "I guess, we all drop the ball sometimes" he said in a grim tone. He knew for fact, that he had amny times, too many times for his likeing.
Once again, like he did before he leant down in one fluid movement and picked up a small pebble, toying with it in his hands. He examined it for a moment, he knew it was like him, cold, hard, un beating, he sighed again. Turning slightly to his left, he flicked it with one of his blinding fast movements, sending it skimming across the surface of the water again, before it slowly sank downwards into the abyss.

Sophie shrugged slightly, letting her shoulders fall more than they rose. "I guess it wouldn't matter much. Everybody knows everything that goes on in this godforsaken town...and everyone. No doubt the whole town would know if someone's gone missing within a few hours." She said hopelessly.
Sophie could feel the hunger in her rise. She knew she'd had to feed and soon. She wondered if the Cullens had a point to this vegetarian thing. She wouldn't be nearly as powerful and she would have to feed more often, but she deal with that. It's not like she could treat herself to a human every once in a while...
Sophie stared at the sinking rock incredulously. "How...How did you do that?" She asked, amazed. She had never seen it before in her life...and that was a long time. She was mesmerized by the way the rock floated across the surfacces, brushing it at times, without falling in immediately.

"I guess it wouldn't matter much. Everybody knows everything that goes on in this godforsaken town...and everyone. No doubt the whole town would know if someone's gone missing within a few hours." Oscar laughed lightly, still facing towards the lake, not facing her. "I guess your right," he agreed."Everyone knows everything about everyone," he added wrinkling his nose.
Oscar felt the gaze of the girl on his back as he recoiled from flicking the small rock into the water. Her gaze un-nerved him, but he didn't quite know why. "How...How did you do that?" Turning back to face her, he flaced her another one of his big, dazzling smiles. "It's a talent" he joked laughing slightly. "It's quit easy actually, after a bit of practice, I could show you if you'de like" he said while bending down picking up another rock.

Sophie nodded in agreement. "Yes, exactly!" She said wishing she could've better expressed her words. She was never good at saying what she means, why should it start now? At least her god-awful stutter was gone now...
His smiled caught her off guard. It made her heart flutter, or it would if she had a heart, that is. For a moment she had lost her focus. His question snapped her back to reality. She placed a piece of her hair that had fallen in front of her face behind her ear. "Er...sure!" Sophie said.
She watched as he picked up another rick. She thought it should be easy enough to learn.

Oscar laughed as Sophie agree'd with him. As he faced her he noticed her hesitate for a moment as he smiled, he couldn't help but smile wider as he tried to fight back laughter, he was used to it, but it still made him laugh. "Er...sure!" Looking down towards the rock for a moment, he played with it again, a habbit of his.
"It's simple," he encouraged before looking up and walking towards her. STanding shoulder to shoulder to her he hesitated, unsure wether this was the smartest move to make, he still didn't know anything about her, was it such a good idea to get closer to her? He tensed as he though for a moment, but that soon eased up as he decided he would take the chance.
"It's all about timing," he explained smiling. Flipping the rock up in the air he got ready to flick it into the water, "If you get it at the right angle, it'll skim the top of the water," he finished.

Sophie felt his tension and her lips curved into a small smile. She payed attention to the instructions and nodded when necessary. She watched as the rock bounced across the surface of the water. It looked simple enough. Sophie convinced herself she would be able to accomplish a task so small, especially since she had overcome even harder ones. Unfortunately, skipping rocks was not something she was taught in her training.
Sophie reached down to the grown and picked up a good-sized rock. She played with it in her hands before grasping it with only her left hand. Sophie threw the rock in a way she thought was similar to the was Oscar did. The rock only hit the surface and bounced up slightly before landing in the water with a thunk!. Sophie crinkled her nose at her failure realizing it wasn't as easy as she had thought.

While he was explaing what to do, Oscar couldn't help but smile at her enthusiasm, or was it the fact that she thought it looked simple, you never know it could have been a mix. As he watched her try he couldn't help but laugh out loud at her reaction. "Sorry," he said through his laughter, making it sound shaky. As he struggled to contain his laughter, he leant down picking up another, smaller rock, "Let it slip out of your hand just as you lift it up," he explained just before showing her.
As he lift his hand, still laughing, he let it go hurtling towards the water, but his timing was out as it simply splashed into the water before sinking. He pouted for a moment, annoyance on his face. He smug laugh soon faded, as it turned into embarrassed laughter.

Sophie's face relaxed. She looked at Oscar when she heard the uneven tone in his voice. "Are you laughing at me?" She asked with wide eyes and a mouth that dropped. She shoved him playfully. Embarrassment crept up the side of her face, but it soon turned into a light-hearted laugh.
Sophie watched him throw the rock, this time paying attention more carefully. She dissolved into giggles when the rock sunk into the water. She cleared her throat. "How do you do it again?" She asked teasingly.
