Oscar was still finding it hard to concentrate through the laughter, as he swiped his long dirty blind hair back into place. "Are you laughing at me?" Her words just sent him further into hysterics. " 'Fraid so" was all he could manage. Her gentle nudge on his shoulder knocked him sideways a little. "Hey.." he laughed at her, smiling widely.
His laughter soon seemed to vanish when she started laughing at him, he slouched a little to the side, still pouting. "How do you do it again?" he frowned at her teasing tone. "It was your fault," he defended. "You distracted me," he said before scooping up another rock. "okay brainiac, lets see you do it then," he challenged, offering her the rock. [/blockquote]

Sophie sighed. "Right, well then. I apologize for whatever it was that distracted you." She said a little confused. She looked at the rock apprehensively. She accepted the rock, her cold, hard fingers briefly brushing against his cold, hard skin. "Fine." She said accepting the challenge.
Sophie threw the rock, letting it slip out of her hand just as she lifted it up. The rock skimmed the surface once before plunking into the water. A wide, proud grin spread across her face as she considered that to be an accomplishment. At least it was a start.

"Right, well then. I apologize for whatever it was that distracted you." Oscar shook his head, finally claming down from his laughing fit, "You had no idea how uncontrollably funny you were" he explained. Oscars hand flinched back as Sophies lightly brushed against his, he didn't know why, reflex maybe? But he knew he'd had alot of bad experiences when it come to his own kind, maybe he wasn't ready to trust anyone quite yet.
"Fine." He grinned at the word. He watched her closely as she flicked it towards the water and laughed quietly. "that was good," he said, while he flashed downwards in one of his blindingly fast movements picking up another small rock. He flicked it just as fast as he'd picked it up, and watched it skim the surface a couple of times before it sank into the water. "Good, but you can't beat the master" he said in a mocking voice. Sophie laughed a little. She bent down and grabbed a lumpy rock. "Here goes nothing." She said flinging it across the water gently. It landed somewhere in the middle of the lake. The pathetic rock dove into the surface of the water leaving nothing but a few droplets of water that bounced up behind it.
Sophie stared after the rock in disbelief. It didn't even bounce a little. She sighed, "That was horrible!" She said groaning slightly. Sophie brought her hands to her face and buried her face in her hands.

"Here goes nothing." Oscars eyes fixed on the rock watching it. "Good luck" he whispered a hint of teasing in his voice. His eyes followed the rock as it flew across the lake and sank straight down, he smiled in amusement.
"That was horrible!" Oscar frowned for a moment, it wasn't that bad, she was new to it, she probably didn't know how it actually took him to perfect it. Tilting his head he slowly moved one of his hands out, hesitating before placing his cold, hard marble hand on her shoulder. "It wasn't that bad," he merely said a hint of confusion coated in his voice. [/blockquote]

Sophie brought her hands away from her face. "Perhaps I'lll practice more...another day." She said sighing. She flinched slightly out of surprise when she felt his hand on her shoulder. Then she relaxed.
Sophie sighed. She hadn't realized how much time had passed. Already the sun was off-center in the sky as if it were getting ready to hide away for the night. Another day passed, many more to go. The thought brought a kind of sadness, so she pushed it away.

Oscar smiled when she lightened up. "Perhaps I'll practice more...another day." he smiled even wider, "Maybe, thats a good idea" he mocked. He recoiled his hand when she flinched bringing it back down to his side
Oscar walked over towards the waters edge sitting down wrapping his arms around his knee's staring towards where the last of the sunlight was shimmering of the surface of the water. He looked around for anymore rocks he could use to flick into the water, but it seemed they had cleared the entire area of them. He sighed before flicking his hair back from where it fell into his face. [/blockquote]

Sophie watched him leave her side. She watched him search for rocks, she assumed. She was unaware of the smile that had appeared on her face and that was when she realized this was the longest time she had spent with a vampire in years. She was always moving across the world, escaping the horrid past that imprisoned her.
Sophie looked up at the sky. A light breeze blew her hair behind her and she imagined how nice it w ould feel it she could feel it on her skin.
Sophie stood there by herself wondering if it was a good time to go. She had to work tonight and she knew it would take something bigger than a miracle for her to be around so many humans when she was this weak.

Oscar thought to himself for a minute, he didn't know where to go for the night. As he sat there he didn't know how many minutes passed, both of them silent. He sighed for a moment before he let go of his knee's and fell backwards, his arms resting behind his head. He sighed in content and closed his eyes.
"Do you know anywhere I can stay, just for tonight" he asked without opening his eyes. He hadn't really planned on meeting any other Vampires, and this threw him off track, he was going to ask around town, after he's hunted, but he got side tracked. [/blockquote]

Sophie's head shot back down. "I'm staying at an inn where I work. You don't have too....but there's an extra pull-out sofa....and cable if you get bored." She offered. Sophie was almost excited. She never had company and the residents never really bothered to speak to her, not that she made it a point to see them much either.
"I'll probably be out most of the night anyways, so you can have the place to yourself." Sophie added. It was about time she hunted. She could call in sick tonight, but there were only so many opportunities to miss work and she needed that job desperately.
