Oscar sat on a low set branch not far from the waters edge, his feet hanging, swinging slowly back wards and for wards as he sat gazing at the water a low frown creasing his head. Why was he here? He knew about the rumors, of the so called 'Cullen's' who lived around these parts. Accusations came and went as he traveled around there species all the time, but was he compelled to come here and look? He knew that it wasn't such a good idea, since, from what he's heard, a human girl lives and visits them at regular intervals, and he could tell by the strong hibiscus aroma, that this was in fact true. Oscars mouth twitched as he tried to concentrate on the slow sound of the water, as he fought for control of himself. He wasn't quit used to his new lifestyle, of being a 'vegetarian', it was all so new to him still, and for most of his kind, it was extremely difficult. But he knew, in his mind that he was physically strong enough to control his thirst, although his body disagreed with him. He had hunted recently on his way to forks, taking extra precaution knowing that if the rumors of the human girl was in fact true, than he wouldn't want to take risks with a coven of vampires in close proximity. Oscar leapt down from the tree, leaning down to pick up a small but heavy rock, he played with it in his hands for many moments, tossing it from one hand to the other, before, with one easy flick, he sent it flying through the air, across the water, before it landed on the surface, slowly sinking. A small sigh escaped his mouth, was it a sigh of loneliness or was it a sigh of contentment, he didn't really know, he had never really been sure what his emotions where telling him, but he never stopped wondering.

Sophie wandered around town. Her shift ended early, which was good. Somehow working with humans all day wasn't as easy as she thought. She was pretty sure she had controlled her appetite during her training with the Count, but that assurance had left almost the moment she got to Forks.
She walked through the trees, weaving in and out of them, before she came to a small field with a lake. Sophie had heard of the lake before and had only begun to look for it when she heard some kids in the shop talking about it. She was only looking for something to feed on. The pathetic deer was not strong enough to last her an hour, let alone the three days she had gone starving.
She saw the back of a figure and a smile spread across her lips. Perfect, she thought. As she hid in the trees, she realized that he might not be so human and her mood deepened. She took a step forward and accidentally stepped on a twig. A loud snap escaped from it and she stopped dead in her tracks, not wanting to be caught spying.

Oscar remained stairing at the gently ripples that brushed lightly against the shore. The calming sound relaxed him, much like a mothers lullaby to a distressed baby. He didn't know how long he was standing there, was it a couple of minuets? Hours? he didn't know but what he did know was, that this was the most relaxed he's felt in a long while.
Lifting his head to the air, Oscar noticed a new scent in the air, a sweet, but strong smell. One of his own kind was somewhere nearby. He stood almost motionless at the waters edge, his head tilted ever so slightly to the left, anyone who didn't know him probably wouldn't even have noticed it. He stayed alert listening out to the surrounding area. He didn't want to be caught, especially by one of the Cullens, for he knew that would be strung with a whole stream of accusations and questioning.
Listening intently, a low snap made his head twist in one of his blindingly fast movements. His eyes narrowed as he noticed a vampire female, standing there emotionless, obviously in the same situation as he was, not wanting to get caught. Instinctively, he spun around to face the unsuspecting girl, his lips pulled back deffensively as he crouched forward ever so slowly ready to fight if needed. A piercing hiss escaped his lips, maybe to rash for him, but he didn't know what else to do.

Sophie cursed under her breath. She looked at Oscar, now positive he was a vampire. He looked like he was ready to attack her and she tensed up. She looked like a deer caught in the headlights with her wide eyes. She was far too weak for a fight now, when she had gone weeks without feeding on humans. Sophie took a step back.
"I'm not here to fight you." She said too soft for a human to hear. A faint trace of an accent was left in her voice. Her eyes narrowed and she stood up straight waiting for his next reaction. She knew if he was ready to fight her, he could be in front of her quicker than a small second, but she could also run. In fact, she debated whether or not to run now.

Oscar waited, thinking to himself, he knew that the way he was standing must have seem fearsome, but he knew he had to stay defensive. He watched as she stared at him, horror strung across her face, he knew now that she mustn't post much of a threat to him, but he wanted to hear it from the horses mouth before he relaxed. The thirst was clear on her face, but a thirsty vampire, made a fearsome vampire.
"I'm not here to fight you." he watched as the words slipped from her mouth before he read her face, he read her expression for a moment or two, he didn't really know, but all he could see was sincerity in her eyes. Trusting her words he eased up, standing up straight before clearing his throat. "Sorry," he answered with feeling, "You can never be to careful, as you may know yourself." Although he trusted her words, his eyes never Left her for one second. "So, are you one of these, 'Cullen's', I'm always hearing about?" he asked with gentle interest. [/blockquote]

Sophie nodded slightly let out a sigh of relief and relaxed a little. In a flash she was standing feet away from him. His question had caught her off guard. "No." She responded before silently adding, Not yet. She wasn't sure if she would ever be one of 'them'. In a way, it would help her extremely, but the sacrifice was great. "I am not a part of them, but I have met them." She added in haste.
"I assume you are not with them, then?" Sophie asked out of curiousity, not remembering him at the house. She studied him more carefully now that she could actually see him. She noted the interest in his voice.

Oscar tensed as the female approached him at blinding speed, this was a little to close for his liking, but still he did nothing."No." He felt a frown creese his head as he tilted it slightly to the left in confusion. Why is she here then? he asked himself. "I am not a part of them, but I have met them." The frown left his face as he nodded. "I assume you are not with them, then?" he smiled for a breif moment, the corners of his motuh twitching as he tried to compose himself, "No I'm not, but I plan to meet them." he simply answerd.
"Is it true that theres a human female living amongst them? I wasn't sure if it was just a rumour or not." he asked, the interest still coated in his voice. He wrinkled his nose, he knew he could smell a sweet scented human but he didn't know if it was the same human from the rumours.

Sophie wasn't sure what to say. "I met her first, in the forest." She said disgusted. She still didn't understand why they would want a human in their house without killing her, of course. It took everytihng in her power not to kill Bella, and only because she needed her information.
Sophie continued on, "Bella's with one of them. Er..I believe it begins with an 'E'..." Sophie said letting her name slip out. She struggled to remember his name. "You're not...I mean...Are you planning on joining them?" Sophie asked wide-eyed. Even the thought of it seemed unreal. Why would any vampire want to venture away from humans? They were so...empowering, not to mention rather tasty.

"I met her first, in the forest." Oscar nodded as he listened quietly to the words she was saying, he muttered under his breath, quietly, but he knew she could probably hear from that distance. "Explains why I'm struggling to contain myself," he sighed to himself. He wrinkled his nose again trying not to breathe in her sweet scent.
"Bella's with one of them. Er.." He continued listening, looking up quickly wondering by she had given him the girls name. Tilting his head to the side, once again, he furrowed his eyebrows together, so the rumours where true, one of the Cullens, was said to be in love with a human. "You're not...I mean...Are you planning on joining them?" The question suprised him, as he tried to think of a sensible answer. "I havn't really thought about it, although, if theres a human around," he trailed off not really wanting to think of what could happen.
Standing up straight, Oscar suddenly realised that they where still strangers, on one basis. Not knowing how to go about it, he offerd out his hand still a good distance away from the female, "I'm Oscar by the way, nice to meet you," he greeted in a casual tone. [/blockquote]

Sophie understood. "It would be a hard change. Almost impossible." She said with a sigh. She needed nothing more than to feed. Her soft ivory skin was a faint shade of gray and her eyes were dark.
Sophie's eyes shifted to the hand he offered. "I'm Mar--er--Sophie." She quickly corrected. She looked at him and offered a smile as she shook his hand. "Enchanté." She said in response. She tried to pull her hand back, but his grip was too tight. "Er.." She said as she struggled.
