Bella walked slowly through the park, thinking. Today for Bella was, ponder over wedding day. She gazed around her at all the human faces, the innocent faces that seemed to have no care in the world. 'Lucky them' She thought to herself.
Bella skipped, as gracefully as she could under the shade of the trees. It was funny, even though she tried to be somewhat coordinated, she couldn't be. She tripped over a few tree stumps and almost fell a couple times, but Bella didn't mind. She was used to it by now and was NOT going to miss it.
She had so much on her mind lately and just wanted to get it over with. She just wanted to be Edward's wife and be with him forever, she didn't care how she did it. Staring at the ground Bella thought about what and how that ONE day was going to change her life forever. She would be in a gorgeous white wedding gown, and she would be given away to him by Charlie. She would be given away to her god. She could seem him now, his pale face, so beautiful and his gorgeous features right next to her. Bella sighed at the thought. In a month she would be just, or somewhat close in perfection to him. She couldn't wait, but she was still afraid of what Charlie and Renee were going to say and what was going to happen to her.
As all these thoughts went through Bella's head, she went over a especially high root and sadly tripped. Bella landed flat on her face, and didn't get up for a minute. She just laid there, her eyes closed. Finally, when she did get up, she saw Jasper and Edward, talking.
Wandering over to them she went over to Edward's side. "Hey Edward, Jasper. What are you guys talking about?" She said curiously.

Jasper supressed a chuckle when he saw Bella's face look up at him from the ground. He allowed a smile to stretch across his blinding teeth, and answered.
"Your next hospital admittion." He joked. Perhaps Emmett and he had gotton too close..."Just kidding, Bella." He offered a hand to help her up, and thought to himself, with regret now that he was standing next to Edward. --Well, won't have to worry about hospitals soon. Sorry Edward. But it's true, you will be able to rest easier knowing her life isn't in danger anymore, or her non-life, or- I am just going to stop now.--
Jasper didn't dare face his brother's eyes. He didn't like making either of them uncomfortable, especially after playing such a big part in Edward leaving last fall. Agony swept over him, but kept control of it. He didn't need to bother Edward or Bella with his guilt. He knew he would just have to make it up to them for eternity, and that gave him a small amount of satisfaction.

Bella's entrance was announced by the sound of her stumbling, and Edward quickly turned, amusement battling with concern. He moved to help her but Jasper was quicker, assisting her to her feet with a smile. Edward shot him a grateful glance and placed his hand in Bella's, smiling softly down at her before brushing away some loose strands of hair from her face and tucking them behind her ear.
"Are you alright?" he asked with a mirth-filled gaze.
But Jasper's thoughts brought his attention away from her briefly, and Edward shot the blonde vampire a hard glance. One that held no amusement whatsoever. But it didn't take long for Edward to realize Jasper was right, no matter how much he didn't want to think about Bella's eventual--and inevitable--transformation. He would be able to rest easier once Bella was less...well...breakable. It was at least one good thing that would come of this.
These thoughts were abandoned when Edward caught sight of the brief flicker of pain that went through Jasper's eyes. His own expression softened, knowing his brother was thinking about the paper cut incident. An incident he'd forgiven him for long ago. Edward knew Bella had, too. And so he briefly grasped Jasper's shoulder in a comforting grip, hoping to convey all of this to him without words. Then his eyes turned again on Bella, smiling once more.
"I clearly can't leave you alone for any prolonged period of time without you nearly injuring yourself," he said, lifting one of her hands as though to inspect it for scrapes from her fall. When his eyes lifted back to hers they were filled with dancing mirth once again. "The last thing I want is for you to be limping when you walk down the aisle, love."

Jasper felt Edward's hand on his shoulder, comforting him, the same way Emmett did. He knew Edward had forgiven him long ago, but he could not stop the remorse. Just as Bella had forgiven Edward for leaving, and still he devoted himself to making it up to her. Even though it wasn't his fault, Jasper thought to himself, then stopped, and forced a smile. He gave his brother a pat on the shoulder, and kicked a pebble out of Bella's way.
Smirking to himself as Edward reminded his fiancee of the wedding- knowing how the subject frustrated her previously- and thought of the occassion. The feelings of regret and self-punishment were replaced with happiness for the couple. While he had only met Edward in the late thirties or so, he could not remeber the dates, only his lust for blood...he still felt like they were closer than any biological brothers seemed to be in this time and age. Although he was older than him, he still felt like his younger brother in times like this when he doubted himself. His family was always looking out for him, and vice versa. And now, there would be another member in his family for eternity. It was exciting to know that Bella would be changed soon, where Edward was nervous and rightfully so, Jasper knew it was inevitable, and for the best. His brother had been through a lot over the last eighty years, and it was time that he found his Bella.
"Hey look, baby ducks!" He pointed to the fuzzy puffs floating in a nearby pond. Some Civil War soldier-turned bloodthirsty vampire for you, he thought to himself. Ah well, what's eternity without baby ducks?

Issac looked down at the other three people in the park from his perch in the tree. He could tell that one of them was human, he had meant to hunt her before the other two had shown up. The two men were vampires, one of them he recognized from the destruction of Victoria's army, but the other was new to Issac.
The odd thing about the two vampires didn't seem to be attacking the human girl. It just looked like they were talking to her. Issac shifted with impatience, feeling his thirst grow as he watched the three talk. Issac couldn't understand it, why weren't they attacking her? She smelled so good, so why were they resisting their natural desire?
*Enough of this, I'm going to feed on her my self,* Issac thought, jumping down from the tree and running towards the girl as soon as he hit the ground. He could hear her heart beating, smell the blood that ran through her veins, the blood that would soon be spilled. As he ran, the only thing that he focused his dark red eyes on was the human. He ignored the two vampires standing at her side. If they weren't going to feed on her, they had not right stopping him from doing so.

Bella smiled grateful for Jasper’s help. “Thanks.” She said sheepishly. Bella melted when Edward took her hand glanced at him, puzzled when he gave his brother a hard look. She relaxed though when it instantly softened again, and his gaze fell on her.
"The last thing I want is for you to be limping when you walk down the aisle, love." He said.
At this she grimaced and leaned her head against him, glad to be with him and away from the house where the hustle and bustle of planning was taking place. There wedding was only two days away now. Bella couldn’t believe it. Time had gone so fast! At the moment the Cullen house was chaos. Everyone was pitching in to help set up the backyard, put up decorations and what ever else there was to do. Alice had been running around checking if everyone was doing everything right and making everything perfect. After a few minutes of this I knew I had to get out, so that’s why I came here.
Bella stared between Jasper and Edward for a long moment, processing the fact that they were having a conversation in their minds that she was not going to here, and she had to live with that. All of a sudden she heard Jasper point out baby ducks. Giggling, Bella turned excitedly to watch them. She thought baby animals were so cute! But, just as she did another blurb came into her line of vision. Something was running full speed at her, and its teeth were bared.
“Edward! Jasper!” Bella screamed, quickly jumping behind Edward. Bella knew the thing charging towards them was a vampire because no human could run that fast. Cowering in Edward’s wake, Bella tried to calm herself. Her heart raced a mile a minute and she was starting to hyperventilate. Taking slow, deep breaths, she looked out behind Edward to see who this mysterious monster was.
‘Why now? Why am I always being hunted?!’ Bella thought to herself, frustrated. She had just gotten over the incident with Mick and Alex, and her cuts had healed, even though she still had to where a brace on her wrist every so often. ‘Life is going to be so much easier in mere days…when I am finally a vampire.’ She thought to herself as the hunter came closer and closer to them.

Edward glanced briefly at the tiny animals Jasper pointed out, but his gaze returned to Bella shortly after. She was beaming. It was impossible for him not to smile at the sight of her genuine happiness. She was breathtaking when she smiled. He wondered, as he stared at her, how he would even be able to keep upright when she finally walked towards him down the aisle. Edward was certain that her beauty on that approaching day combined with the knowledge that she'd chosen him of all people would nearly be his undoing. If he was this happy now, he could hardly imagine what he'd be feeling when Bella was finally his. And his forever.
He was miles away in these thoughts. But when he was brought back, it was with a startling immediacy that had his head spinning. His senses screamed in alarm as a foreign scent reached him. Recognizing that the scent was not human, Edward's gaze snapped to Jasper, wondering if he sensed it too. But there was no time for communication when a blur of movement began speeding towards them from a direction not far ahead.
Aiming straight for Bella.
She screamed. Immediately Edward thrust her behind him, instinctively taking a defensive position in front of her and shielding her body with his own, arms outstretched as his jaw clenched in preparation for the attack. There was no time to do anything else. And when the other vampire collided with him, it was with thundering impact, a loud crack that echoed through the trees and sent the birds within them flying out in fright. Edward absorbed the blow as best he could but was still thrown back from the force of the it. But since he'd been prepared for it, he was able to retaliate almost immediately.
And now he was mad.
Getting a solid grip on the vampire, Edward rose, taking fistfuls of the other's shirt and lifting him a few inches off his feet as a snarl tore from somewhere deep inside him. The look on his face as he stared up at the stranger was not friendly. Not at all.
"Give me one good reason not to kill you right now," he hissed, eyes blazing with cold fury as he stood tall and solid. "And when you answer, I think it would be in your best interest to take into consideration the fact that you are currently outnumbered."

Jasper felt happiness surround Edward like a satallite in its orbit; hovering around like a halo, then dissapearing out of view. Anger and fear swam around the atmosphere, and Jasper's empty stomach sank as his silent heart began to tear. ---Not again---. he thought to himself. While Bella's blood was hardly resistable to his senses, he knew that not very many of his kind could successfully tolerate the temptation as well as he did, and it was often that he faultered.
Within miliseconds, scarlet eyes drew forward and white teeth tore through the restraining air toward this sinister being's target- his sister-in-law-to-be. He saw his brother take a protective stance, and knew the cycle of events to come. If he had any doubt of Bella becoming a Cullen in the physical sense, it would have shattered then and there. Once she had the newborn strength that could rival Emmett and the lack of floral blood, there might be a chance that his family would not be so restricted by her fragility.
Jasper stepped away from Edward, creating a corner with Bella safely behind their granite bodies. His knees bent, his back hunched and his arms were bent as if he were a cat about to strike. His icy lips peeled over his teeth and let out a hiss; a sound he had not let escape his lungs since last spring, and before that... He forced the memory from his mind, and focused on the incoming predator. A thunderous crash echoed from Edward's chest, and swore to himself that he would not allow tradgedy to occur so close to the blessed day.
Jasper launched himself at break-neck speed, grabbing Bella as Edward indented a perfect imprint of his back into the grass. He tucked her behind the granite fountain, and made his attack. Recoiling, Jasper grinned at the oppritunity of revenge. Where he hadn't killed James or his coven, he could kill this one. The pack of matches that were ever-present in his pocket felt weighty as he remebered their prescence. Jasper launched through the air and landed atop a white, stoney mass. His arm reached around the front of the opposer's neck, and pulled his head back ever so slightly with the other. He secured his legs with his own, pressing his body weight against the offender. Jasper then whispered in his ear.
"Lookie, here. Looks as if you're outnumbered, doesn't it?" he mocked. ---Edward, you're call.-- Jasper then waited for his brother's response.

Issac was running towards his prey, fast and faster. He would be on her before she knew it, his teeth sinking into her throat. Suddenly there was a crash, and Issac felt himself run into something harder than granite. Something as hard as him.
As Issac collided with the vampire, a few emotions ran through him. The first was shock. Why would this vampire stop him from hunting? He didn't seem to be trying to drink the girl himself, and he couldn't possibly be protecting her, could he?
As he was raised into the air by the unknown vampire, Issac's surprise was replaced by fear. He remembered seeing the other one fighting Victoria's army, and he was sure that this one was just as skilled. A number of responses to his enemy's question ran though his mind, but before he could start to speak, the other vampire had landed on him, pinning him down.
A slight whimper escaped Issac's mouth as he tried to pull away from his captive. His eyes darted between the girl and the vampires, trying to figure a way to escape and get his thirst quenched all at the same time.
*There's no way I could do it with two of them,* Issac thought, another whimper passing his lips *Oh, why did I have to pick that girl?*. Issac looked up at the vampire that wasn't on top of him, trying to think of the best way to answer his question.
"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry," Issac said, figuring that pleading was his best hope. "I'll leave... But maybe... The girl?" Issac asked, his thoughts returning to how sweet her blood could taste. The back of his throat became dry at the thought of it, as if ash suddenly filled his mouth.

Jasper pulsed fear throughout the air around him, desperately hoping it affected only the scoundrel that was now pleading for mercy, and not Edward, and especially not Bella, she supplied enough on her own. He grinned smugly as the red-eyed moster begged; he liked the power the built from within him after so many fights that were too evenly matched.
When the granite mass began to ask for Bella, Jasper only hoped he could control Edward; this was no time for the Volturi to check in on them.---Edward, calm down. It is his instinct speaking, I would know, and you do too. Calm down, he is scared beyond comprehension, he knows we could snap him like a toothpick, if you wish, you could take Bella home and I could take care of him. Perhaps we could even send him to Denali to lead him in the right direction.---He directed his thougts to his brother. No matter what he did, he could not leave him alone with him.
"Tell me your name, vermin." Jasper interrogated. "And don't even think about the girl, she's with us. And believe you me, we will know." he felt his eyes turn black with these words. He had been in the same ordeal over a hundred years ago, and apparrently, he still had the knack for it.
