Reggie was the first to notice the pale figures that darted so swiftly through the forest. They were a few hundred feet off to the East and Reggie grinned when the familar face of Donahue turned to look in his direction. "HEY! Nathan, Jesse, Lex, Rox! Guess who's here!" He shouted to his family, grinning and waving excitedly at Donahue, Desdemona and Jasper.
Nathan sat up with a jolt and ruffled his hair disgruntly. "Wat' you shoutin 'bout Reg?" He asked groggily, pushing himself into a sitting position. He immediatly stood in a protective stance as he sensed the vampires, but then laughed as he realized who it was. He ran in a fast pace over to them, smiling warmly. "Hey guys." He blinked in surprise at a closer glimpse of Desdemona and Donahue. "Hey, what's different about you guys?"
Jesse turned to see the vampires whom they had befriended, but stayed where he was in the small clearing, waiting for Leah. He had asked her to come and have a picnic with the family but she wasn't here yet. A line of worry was forming between Jesse's eyes.
Roxie turned around and let out a merry laugh at the sight of the vampires, glittering in the bare light that shone through the clouds. "Hey Jasper, Des, Don!" She said, getting up and grabbing her sister by the hand to lead her over to the group.
Lexi sat calmly , her feet dipped in the water of the stream, humming tunelessly to herself. She didn't notice the presence of others but got up obediently when Roxie asked her to. She turned and walked with her to the vampires but stopped short at the sight of the female. "Y...Y...You....hurt....me c....crazy!" She said, her voice broken and riddled with sudden sobs. "YOU DID 'TIS TO ME!" She shouted inchoherently, struggling to break her sister's grasp to get at the vampire. To kill her, to maim and tear, just as they did to her.

Jasper smiled brightly at the sight of the pack. Though their scents he detested, he longed for their company once more. He darted to their sides, not worrying as he once did about his being a vampire. They knew what he was, why hide it? He shook their hands as he greeted them.
"Nathan, Reggie, Jesse, Roxie, Lexi..." He stopped shortly with the realization of the member of the pack he recognized only from the Forks High parking lot so long ago. This was not going to go well, he thought to himself. She knew not of Donahue and Desdemona's change in heart, but could she? With her mind not what it once was, would she be able to set aside their differences?
Thinking quickly, Jasper put himself before Desdemona and slowly back up, not wanting any metaphorical flames to ignite, and spoke calmly, and reassuringly. Pulsing serenity through the atmopshere surrounding him, he walked slowly to Lexi.
"Lexi, is it? My name is Jasper, do you remember me? I need you to trust me, we are allies, you and I, as well as your pack. Donahue and Desdemona have thought better of their previous lifestyles, and have changed themselves. They are peaceful as I, and wish only to be friends."

Leah ran fast to catch up to the pack that was already at the clearing. She mental hit herself for being late, but it couldn't be helped when she forgot to set her alarm.
As she entered though she tensed as Lexi began trying to get at Desdemona and only hadn't because of Roxi. Jasper was coaxing her to stop, but Leah wasn't sure he could completely.
Leah darted over to Lexi and grabbed her into a hug. Then she loosened her grip and stared straight into Lex's eyes. "Lexi it's ok, she's not the same anymore. She means no harm. They mean no harm. The pack is here and fine, I'm here, we're not going to let anything happen to you. Please..." Leah coaxed her to listen as she patted Lexi's face and rubbed on her arms hoping to relax the tension in her body.
Leah wasn't sure why she thought Lexi might listen to her. They barely knew each other, but Leah knew that she had to do what she could. To prove that she can help and be apart of this wonderful pack...

Lexi's eyes roved frantically over the male's face and she recognized it vaguly, but only as a vampire. Vampires are bad. They hurt family. Hurt vampires! She screamed inside her head, baring her teeth at the leech. Lexi stiffened when she felt someone hug her. She couldn't see the face, but the grasp was comforting. She closed her eyes and listened to the girl as she mumbled inchoerently. Lexi simply nodded and relaxed, a small tear leaking from her eye.
Roxie tensed and moved to stop her twin but nothing happened. She held in a scowl when Lexi relaxed under Leah's touch, but told herself it was for the better. She walked behind the two and put an arm on Lexi's shoulder. "Lexi, these people want to apologize. They're sorry." She whispered clearly in her ear, wiping the tear from her sister's face.
Jesse heard Leah's voice behind him and dashed over to the clearing and quickly realized what happened. He smiled feebly at Leah but the worry line did not dislodge itself from his forehead. Rather, it deepened. Would Leah still want to be part of the pack now that she knew how unstable Lexi was?

Desdemona felt a pang of hurt at Lexi's accusations. She vividily remembered the torture that ensued the girl because of her. Desdemona had stared into the girl's eyes, meaning to kill, but the male had broken the gaze. The girl was mentally impaired for life now, she could learn little and would remember even less. "I'm sorry! I really am Lexi! I feel horrible!" She said, her voice growing softer with the pain of finally admiting that it was her fault.

Jasper felt the guilt and regret eminating from Desdemona. She was truly ashamed and sorry for the pain she caused, and he could only hope that time could heal her heart. Would she ever be able to forgive herself? Jasper did not forgive his past sins, how could he tell her to? This was something he never wanted revealed to Desdemona, Donahue, or even the pack for that matter. His family knew, and that was usually more than enough. Enough people were hovering over him, and he was quickly becoming claustrophobic.
"She is not lying. Not all vampires are evil, Lexi. There are those of us that are kind, and we belong to those. You can trust us."
He leaned over slowly toward Desdemona, whispering in a speed so fast that only the vampires could hear.
"Do not let this torture you, you can right this by continuing the life you have decided on. What I have taught you today will be the most solace you will see in this sort of non-life. Believe you me, we have more in common than you know."

Lexi's soft brown eyes peered into Jasper's golden ones until he turned away. She said nothing and gave no sign that he had spoken at all. She turned, her face a balnk slate, to face Desdemona. With an even expression, she nodded and spat at her feet, turning on her heel and walking a few yards away to curl up and think.
Roxie blushed at Lexi's behavior and apologized profously to Desdemona. "I'm sorry. She doesn't know... she remembers....sorry." She finished lamely, tracing a circle in the dirt with the toe of her shoe.
((Sorry it's so short))

Desdemona looked at her feet. She was too emotional to look anyone in the eye. She was quiet as she listened to Jasper's words and nodded in reluctant agreement. She forced herself to remember how it felt to kill for good and raised her head, taking a deep breath. She was about to speak when she realized Lexi had already walked away after spitting at her feet. Desdemona sighed but smiled feebly. "Roxie? Can you just... tell her I'm sorry? I don't expect forgivness, but just...let her know."
Donahue shuffled his feet as this hate fest continued. He refused to look at the pair, as if their faces would take him back to the night where Lexi's screams of agony shook the treetops and his heart. He winced when he heard Lexi spit, but looked up to see her walk away. "It's okay Des." He said, putting his arm around her shoulder, though she was inches taller than him.

Jasper watched the scene unfold, with Lexi spitting at Desdemona's feet, and Donahue comforting her. Changing waves of some of the most intense emotions bore into him, making him itch with the stresses. His fingers wound around his hair, fidgeting as he tried to control himself. Lexi left, and when the silence became too much for him, he interjected.
"I believe we all know the trials we must overcome, but these are the very same that abolishes that of enemy, and gives way for friends."
He said this, and hoped that they could get past all of this, and that the akwardness would fade, and the pack, and Desdemona and Donahue, and himself could at last be normal friends.

Nathan cleared his throat and nodded. "Yes, it's great that you guys can come back. I see your eyes are gold. What caused this change?" He asked, a smile on his lips. His tone was still polite, not casual as it could have been, but being in the presence of those who were so immensly older than him made him want to speak as they did, in cadances of times long-past.
Jesse turned to Leah, a look of apology in his eyes. "Excuse us for a moment." He said to everyone, grabbing Leah gently by the hand and steering her away. When they were out of earshot, he tucked a stray strand of hair behind her ear and sighed. "I'm sorry you had to see that. I can't imagine what you must be thinking right now."
Reggie grinned as if the encounter had never happened. He looked up at Donahue, noticing his golden eyes. "You're right Nathan! Weren't they red before? That's so weird, are you wearing contacts?" He inquired, rising up to get a better look.
Roxie rolled her eyes but smiled at Reggie's childish behavior. He was almost sixteen, but he sometimes acted like a thirteen year old. Nevertheless, she laughed at his display and put a hand on his shoulder, telling him with a touch to calm down.
